Spring is coming……

Welcome to Lower Trengale Farm Holiday Cottages’ first blog post and newsletter (thanks to all of you who have subscribed to the mailing list). Today is St Piran’s day. St Piran is generally regarded as the Patron Saint of Cornwall, the Flag of Cornwall is known as St Piran’s flag and it was traditionally the emblem of Cornish tin miners. The Children celebrated at Nursery with a Pasty for lunch (now that is a tradition I could get behind!).

Andy and I moved from Bristol in November 2020 and we (possibly rather optimistically) hoped to hit the ground running in the new year, Mr Johnson and the dreaded virus clearly had other ideas! Still at least we have had time to really take a good look at the cottages and our lovely grounds so that we can make them as welcoming and as enjoyable as possible. New to the area ourselves, we have not had a chance to get out there and have a good explore and we can’t wait to do that as things start opening up. I thought it might be useful to our lovely visitors if I provided little updates in this blog about the surrounding area and also the Farm itself. If you have any suggestions or requests please do get in touch on our Contact Us page and I will do my best!

What is happening at Lower Trengale Farm I hear you say? Well, I have finished cosifying Loveny Cottage (for now) and I think it’s looking pretty snazzy check out the new photos posted on facebook back in February. I am doing the same to Dozmary, Fowey and Golitha with the aim to be all ready for you lovely people to arrive in April. Outside the cottages, the grounds are starting to wake up from their winter slumber and I have started to clear the grounds of their winter coats to allow all the new shoots to rise. We have a lovely crop of daffodils all over the property. Bob and Marley are enjoying their field and our Children really love greeting them each day. They may be joined by a guest in the next few weeks but that perhaps is something for the next Blog!

Speaking of April, we are gearing up to open on 12 April 2021, this is a Monday so we will be offering four shorter breaks during this time:

  • Loveny Cottage (sleeps 3)- Monday 12th to Friday 16th April (4 nights) - £295.00

  • Dozmary Cottage (sleeps 4) - Monday 12th to Saturday 17th April (5 nights) - £425.00

  • Fowey Cottage (sleeps 7) - Monday 12th to Friday 16th April (4 nights) - £410.00

  • Golitha Cottage (sleeps 6) - Monday 12th to Saturday 17th April (5 nights) - £495.00

From then on we’ll be open for weekly bookings (please do get in touch if you have other requirements and we can see what we can do, particularly in the lower season). From April until 17 May, only one family can stay in each cottage (nothing stopping you booking two cottages and using our private grounds to gather together). From 17 May (if it all goes to plan) then two families can book to stay in one cottage.

Understandably people are being very cautious about booking, I can however say that if you book and the holiday cannot go ahead because things don’t open up as planned (or if tier restrictions prevent travel) a full refund will be offered. If you fancy coming to stay for the shorter April breaks please do give me a call on 01579641106 or drop me a message as I will need to over-ride our booking system to get it booked in for you.

That’s all from me for now! Gool Peran Lowen (Happy St Piran’s Day) to you all! Take care and stay safe and see you soon!!!

Gemma
