Why not come and visit us in 2017 and use Lower Trengale as a very central base from which to explore the lovely County of Cornwall.
Don't forget that our studio has now been refurbished to a high standard enabling larger groups of up to 20 guests staying in our 4 Cottages can now eat together.
Dog friendly, self catering holiday cottages near Bodmin Moor and Liskeard, Cornwall
The holiday cottages at Lower Trengale are situated in a peaceful countryside location just 12 miles from the sandy beach and fishing village of Looe on the south coast of Cornwall. They are an ideal location for exploring the main attractions in Cornwall. The four self catering cottages have been completely refurbished and are set in 6 acres including a small lake, wooded area and tree plantation.
Convenient for Trevenna and Carnglaze Caverns wedding venues
Lower Trengale holiday cottagesare a mile from the tranquil village of St. Neot where there is a village shop, pub and church. Close by are the wedding venues of Trevenna and Carnglaze Caverns. In August, we were pleased to accommodate the families of Jo and Marc who got married at Trevenna from us here at Lower Trengale Farm. You can see some of Jo's photos of the big day in our photo gallery.
Close to Bodmin Moor
The wild expanse of Bodmin Moor with its ancient and industrial archeology and mining heritage lies about 1.5 miles to the north and there are some lovely walks close by at Golitha Falls and at the Hurlers bronze age stone circle at Minions. For the more serious walker, there is the circular 60 mile Copper Trail around Bodmin Moor. Siblyback Lake also offers plenty of walking and cycling as well as sailing and wakeboarding at its watersports centre.
Coast and beaches within easy reach
The South West Coastal Path offers stunning sea views and coastal scenery. You can join the south west coast path at Looe and walk in one direction from Looe to Polperro and on to Fowey and in the other direction from Looe to the sandy beaches of Seaton and Whitsand Bay.
Family days out
The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a 30 minute drive and also within easy reach are the National Trust houses and gardens at Lanhydrock and Cotehele. The rugged North Cornish Coast with Padstow (and Rick Stein's famous Seafood Restaurant), Rock and Port Isaac (of Doc Martin fame) are a similar distance from Lower Trengale.
We are a very dog friendly place and welcome well behaved four legged visitors who can go walkies on our land. Dogs are welcome in all the cottages except for Lavender Cottage. (Maximum of 2 dogs per cottage.)
Lower Trengale is an ideal base for a family holiday and our outdoor playarea and our indoor games room with pool and table tennis tables provide plenty to amuse the children.
